Several well-regarded bachelor’s degree teacher certification programs at the elementary and secondary levels are located at the University of Texas at San Antonio College of Education and Human Development (COEHD).
The program involves numerous field and clinical experience topics, which occur everywhere in the greater San Antonio area. Although all UTSA education programs spotlight multiculturalism and socioeconomic development, students may also be concerned with the African-American Studies, Women’s Studies, or Mexican American Studies Positive Social change minors of the school.
Certification programs for post-baccalaureate and master’s degree instructors are also recommended. In the 12 dedicated research and community engagement centers of the COEHD, students at all levels who are involved in advanced research and engagement will be involved.
Students must have achieved at least 60 credit hours with a minimum GPA of 2.5 to be accepted to the COEHD. Students must also have satisfied key requirements, including related material coursework and the testing guidelines of the school.
Students are assisted by the COEHD ‘s dedicated Advising and Certification Center once accepted and during their studies.

St. Petersburg College
St. Petersburg College (SPC) has a remarkable Elementary Education Bachelor of Science (BS) program that trains graduates to apply for Florida teacher licenses in grades K-6 as well as specialist agreements and reading in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Program courses are delivered on-campus, online
and in blended formats.
In order to provide students with meaningful experience and opportunities to bring classroom learning into motion, internships are included throughout the curriculum.
Students must hold an associate’s degree that meets the general education standards of SPC with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, among other standards, to be accepted to the program.
In order to graduate and comply with Florida credential standards, all students must complete comprehensive elementary school-based hours, including a student internship. In all classes, which include Nature and Needs of Outstanding Students K-12, Learning Theory and Student Progress, and Early and Emergent Literacy K-2, students must achieve a “C” or better.
